![]() There have been some improvements done to runway 15-33 in that it has been widened by 25 metres on either side for aircraft with long wings, you still have to land in the centre of the runway as the sides at this stage are not suitable to land on, you have 25 metres in the centre to land on, the length is 1200metres. The under shoot of runway 12 has been cleared by 15 metres on either side and is now 38 metres wide. Pyramid flight held host to a group of beautiful angels from all around the world that had come to Barberton to volunteer to help the animals in the wild. The girls are students for an organization called Care for wild which dedicates in helping animals to return to the wild as well as care for the sick and injured. www.b-radphoto.weebly.com On the 14th of Jan, Pyramid flight's student Bradley Hatton - Jones and in association with Reach for a Dream Foundation kicked off the new year with a very special wish for a 12year old boy named Selby. Selby has a lung disease which makes him oxygen dependent, however his disease does not stop him from wanting to live out his dream of becoming a Pilot.
Bradley had taken Selby for a flight in his Jab - SP to show Selby how to fly an aircraft, speak over the radio and to help Bradley land the plane! For this Selby is the first (of hopefully many) Jnr Pyramid Pilots and we wish him all the best for the future! On the 2nd of Jan of our new exciting year the Musketeers, Bradley and Delon decided to fly around the Barb Valley enjoying the sunshine and clear skies that has evaded the valley in the past couple of Days. We all ventured out towards a private airstrip called White river Sawmills where the Aviatika piloted by Delon had to make an emergency landing in a field nearby. Pilot was not harmed but the planes engine has seized.
Pyramid family would like to welcome Graeme Webb to the flying school. We know he will be a valued part of our small family.
